Location of Daman
Daman is one of the most attractive and beautiful tourist destination located in Thaha Municipality , Makwanpur District of Central Nepal and it lies on the Tribhuvan Highway. It is about 77 kilometers (i.e 48 mi) south-west of Kathmandu at the height of 2322 meters (i.e 7620 ft) from the sea level.

Sight-seeing and Mountain view

It is best place for natural  sight-seeings. Daman is perfect place for watching an amazing sunrise and sunset views. Himalayas is the greatest view from Daman.  You can start a good day with a view of Mount Everest in the east to Mt. Dhaulagiri in the west from Daman view Tower. Daman view tower has a long range telescope which can help you to explore the Himalayas and the landscapes.

Rhododendron and Botanical Garden

All the area of Daman is almost covered by Rhododendrons from February to March (i.e from Falgun to  Chaitra ). Along with this Daman is a best place for biological  research and excursion.  It contain Mountain botanical garden which is one of the oldest and biggest botanical garden in Nepal. Different classes/varieties of Rhododendron are found here.  Mountain Botanical Garden covering  over 193 acers of forest full of many unexplored and endangered  plant species.

Snowfall during winter

Snowfall also occurs in the hills of Daman during winter season. Specially, Tourists visit this place during the winter season to enjoy the winter snowfall and to spend a beautiful moment with their friends and family. The beauty of this place reaches to the optimum level during winter season due to snow fall.

Religious place

There is a religious temple near by called Risheshwor Mahadev Temple. It is said that when Lord Shiva (Shiv Shankar) was mourning and lamenting , carrying the dead body of his beloved wife Satidevi, he rested here. Being  so thirsty he just hit the big rock with his Trisula (his weapon) and water came out from that rock. Till so far  we can see water coming from the big rocks.

The main festivals celebrated here is Fagu Purnima and Thulo Ekadashi.

Daman gives a best opportunity for the population living in Kathmandu to observe and to see its beauty  and use it for the meaning of recreation. This is because Daman is just 3-4 hrs driving from Kathmandu.

How to get to Daman from Kathmandu ?
If you are planing to visit Daman with your friends or family then you can have two options either you can hire a vehicle (size of vehicle depending upon the no. of your team) or you can go through a local bus.

--You can get a local bus to Daman from Kalanki, Kathmadu. The departure time of bus is 8:00 am  from kalanki.
--If you miss that bus then you can catch another bus for Palung at 10:00 am from Kalanki and from Palung you can change the bus for Daman
--It will take about 3 to 4 hours to visit daman if you catch a direct bus from Kalanki and 4 to 5 hours if you catch the bus for Palung from Kalanki.

Note: The time schedule may not be correct. So if you are planning to visit Daman from Kathmandu then please confirm the time schedule of bus from your colleague or by visiting Kalanki chowk.

Similarly it will take about 3.5 to 4 hrs ride/drive from Chitwan (Chitwan National Park) and about 7 hrs drive from one of the popular tourist place Pokhara.

Best advice for your trip
                if you are planning to visit Daman then I suggest you to visit Daman, Tistung and Palung, Markhu and Chitlang. It is because all these places lies on the same route. And it will just take 2 days and 1 night to enjoy these place.

Kathmandu => Daman => Tistung(Om Adhyay Retreat Resort) =>Markhu =>Chitlang => Kathmandu

Day 1:
           - You arrive in Daman, have some lunch , visit all places in Daman, Departure from Daman at 4:00 pm

Day 2:
